This weekend we traveled down to Los Angeles to play UCLA and USC. After sweeping UCLA, we barely lost to USC in the fifth set. Although the disappointment of losing to USC in a fifth set was all too familiar (we have lost in five at the Galen Center three out of my four years), I was proud of the way the team played throughout the entire weekend. It was also nice to see so many of our fans make the trip down to Southern California, including a large portion of our parents and one of our biggest fans, Kim!
Since we played Friday/Sunday, we had Saturday to practice and relax. After a morning training session at the Galen Center, we were able to lounge around the hotel and enjoy the sun by the pool. For dinner, we all got dressed up and enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Mary’s family’s restaurant, Shanghai Reds. It was fun to see everyone dressed up for dinner amidst a hectic weekend full of volleyball. Also, it was great to see the McKennons and the Higgins who joined us for dinner! After our meal we all made our way back to the hotel and went to bed early in preparation for the game the next afternoon.
Tomorrow we play Colorado at Haas! I hope to see all of you at the game tomorrow and our game Sunday against Utah. Go Bears!
