Hey Cal Fans! First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you who came to support us this past week! Having the fans, the band and the rally-com at both the Stanford game and the Arizona game was a great way to start the Pac-12 season. I hope you all will continue to support us throughout the season, beginning with our next home matches against Colorado on October 9th and Utah on the 13th.
Aside from the heightened excitement for our first Pac-12 games, this week was pretty normal. We had three solid days of practice, along with two serve-and-pass sessions and of course, two games. After our win over Arizona, we were lucky enough to be given the full weekend off! This is definitely a rarity during season. I have only been given the full weekend off a handful of times during my four years at Cal. Needless to say, we were all excited to get some rest and have some personal time away from the gym.
I spent a large portion of the weekend relaxing with my mom. On Sunday night, a group of us cooked a big dinner for some of the baseball players, followed by a movie night featuring “Olympus Has Fallen”. For dinner we made, lasagna, salad, garlic bread and a pizookie for desert. We made three pans of lasagna, which we thought would leave us with a decent amount of leftovers; however, the boys were able to eat even more than we thought possible, finishing all the food. The dinner and movie were a perfect way to end a relaxing weekend and prepare us for a busy week of practice before taking on USC and UCLA this weekend! Go Bears!
