After our unfortunate loss against UC Davis on Thursday, the team was able to spend the weekend getting some extra rest and preparation for Stanford. On Friday, we came in early for a team meeting to watch film from our UC Davis match. As a team, we made a series of technical errors, all highlighted by our morning film session. After the meeting, we were turned over to our strength and conditioning coach, Hank Behrens, for a workout. It was nice to get a sweat in before returning to school (or our beds) for the rest of the day.
On Saturday, Michelle, Mary, Lillian, Marlee, and myself went out for breakfast before all going to watch the water polo game. We were all pleasantly surprised by the fall weather and actually enjoyed sitting in the rain while watching the game. Although the initial plan was to drive to Napa to watch the men’s tennis tournament, due to the weather we opted for a movie instead. A group of us went to see Prisoners, a very long but intense thriller about two young girls who go missing. After the movie, we went to Sliver for dinner, a favorite among the team. Since we had practice the next day the rest of the night was filled with hanging out at home with a group of teammates, awaiting an early morning and a very exciting week!
Hope to see you all at the Big Spike this Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and against Arizona on Friday at 8 p.m.
