Six Cal Golfers Make State Fair Cut

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Defending champion Brandon Hagy leads six Cal golfers who have made the cut at the 89th California State Fair Men’s Amatuer Championship being played at the Alister MacKenzie Golf Course at Haggin Oaks. Hagy (67-68 – 135, -9) shares the lead with Owen Taylor (68-67 – 135, -9) heading into Monday’s third and final round of the 54-hole event that began Saturday.

Others from Cal to make the cut and play Monday are Joël Stalter (T4th, 69-67 – 136, -8), Cameron Shaw (T11th, 69-69 – 138, - 6), Clayton Madey (T26th, 73-69 – 142, -2), Walker Huddy (T40th, 74-69 – 143, -1) and Andrew Morgan (T40th, 73-70 – 143, -1).

Tee times and pairings for Sunday’s third and final round have yet to be announced.

A total of 13 Cal men’s golfers were in the event with the other seven missing the cut in Shotaro Ban (T58th, 70-75 – 145, +1), Keelan Kilpatrick (T64th, 75-71 – 146, +2), Pace Johnson (T64th, 72-74 – 146), Jay Burlison (T75th, 74-73 – 147), James Yoon (T101st, 71-79 – 150, +6), Alexander Wilson (T105th, 73-77 – 150) and Alex Helgans (79-79 – 158, +14).
