BERKELEY - On Aug. 10, Cal’s Gold Standard Costumer Service team hosted a Rookie Boot Camp at Memorial Stadium’s Field Club to welcome first and second year football season ticket holders to the Cal family and introduce them to Golden Bear head football coach Sonny Dykes and his staff.

The purpose of the Rookie Boot Camp was to have some of the newer football season ticket holders become aware of their benefits, which will allow them to maximize their game day experience, while also getting a chance to meet the new football coaching staff prior to Cal’s Aug. 31 season-opener versus Northwestern at Memorial Stadium.

Fans were welcomed by the Gold Standard Customer Service team and invited to enjoy some food and beverage prior to program. The Rookie Boot Camp consisted of an opening welcome by Cal Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour, and talks by offensive coordinator Tony Franklin, defensive coordinator Andy Buh, strength and conditioning coach Damon Harrington, and finally Sonny Dykes on the overall Golden Bear football program.

In addition, the Gold Standard Customer Service team discussed season ticket holder benefits and renewal timelines, introduced the Gold Standard initiative, and presented team and game day information. Following the Rookie Boot Camp, fans were invited to an open football practice at Memorial Stadium.
