BRISTOL, Conn. – First-year Cal head coach Sonny Dykes will be part of a contingent of Pac-12 head football coaches to visit ESPN on Wednesday. Dykes will participate in a a live online chat at ESPN.com (11:45 a.m. ET/8:45 a.m. PT) and is also scheduled to tape interviews for GameDay Radio, SportsCenter and SportsCenter Tonight, as well as meet with ESPN College Football Insider writer Travis Haney.
Dykes will also take part in other social and digital media opportunities Wednesday during what is known as the media entity’s “Car Wash” session that begins three days of media activities for the conference’s head coaches.
After meeting with additional national and East Coast-based media members Thursday in Hartford, Dykes will return to the Los Angeles area along with his fellow conference head coaches to attend Pac-12 Football Media Day at Sony Pictures Studios on Friday, where he will represent be joined by Cal’s player representatives at the event junior linebacker Nick Forbes and sophomore wide receiver Bryce Treggs.
Cal will host seven games at Memorial Stadium in 2013 beginning with a three-game homestand to open the season against non-conference opponents Northwestern (Aug. 31, 7:30 p.m. PT, ESPN2), Portland State (Sept. 7, 2 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks) and Ohio State (Sept. 14, 4 p.m. PT, FOX). The Bears will also play Pac-12 home games against Washington State on Homecoming Weekend (Oct. 5), Oregon State (Oct. 19), Arizona (Nov. 2) and USC (Nov. 9).
Cal’s road games in 2013 are at Oregon (Sept. 28), UCLA (Oct. 12), Washington (Oct. 26), Colorado (Nov. 16) and Stanford (Nov. 23). The Oregon contest will be televised by Pac-12 Networks.
All other television coverage and remaining kick times will be announced at later dates.
