Cal women's volleyball coach Rich Feller has signed a contract extension that will keep him in charge of the Bears' program through the 2015 season.

Feller, undeniably the most successful coach in the program's history, is set to enter his 15th season at Cal. He has led the Bears to a school-record 11 straight NCAA Tournament appearances and twice has been named the National Coach of the Year.

"We are thrilled to have Rich continue to lead our women's volleyball program," Cal Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour said. "The program's succss on the court and in the classroom is a reflection of Rich's leadership and values. I am excited that Rich will continue to direct the program in such a positive way."

Feller is Cal's all-time leader in wins (283) and winning percentage (.649). He's led the Bears to two NCAA Final Four appearances, including the NCAA title match in 2010. Feller's teams at Cal have advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 on six different occassions.

Under Feller's direction, Hana Cutura became Cal's first-ever Pac-10 Player of the Year in 2009. The following season, setter Carli Lloyd was the National Player of the Year.

Feller's teams traditionally excel in the classroom as well. The Bears earned the Team Academic Award from the AVCA in 2011 and 2012.

"I'm really pleased to be assured of coaching here for a number of more years," Feller said. "I have a great appreciation that Sandy and the athletic department has shown their trust in me and the health of the program."

The 2013 season begins Aug. 30-31 with the Cal Molten Classic at Haas Pavilion.
