Ashley Young and Missy Hale scored two goals apiece but Cal's women's water polo team fell to Russia 20-7 in the quarterfinals of the World University Games on Friday.

Russia, the host country, won Pool A during the preliminary round and has yet to lose during the tournament.

Freshman goalie Kelsey Roland made two saves for the Bears and sophomore Kathleen Menz made one.

The Bears are playing as Team USA at the Games after being selected by USA Water Polo to be the country's representative for the competition.

Junior Tiera Schroeder also scored for Cal, as did freshmen Brigitta Games and Stephanie Mutafyan.

The Bears will play Australia on Sunday at 4:30 PT. Cal could still finish as high as fifth place for the tournament. Cal played Australia to a 6-6 tie during the preliminary round.
