Washington continued its trend of scoring in the first inning of the series to put the first run on the board as a single by the designated player Kylee Lahners scored first baseman Hooch Fagaly.

The Golden Bear scoring trend continued at the top of the third as Taylor reached on a bunt single, then scored on D. Henderson's triple off the left field wall.
With a 3-1 score at the middle of the third, the Huskies used an RBI single by Inglesby to chip away at the lead but could not finish the job in the remaining four innings.
