BERKELEY - California standout senior attacker Megan Takacs notched another award to her resume, as she was tabbed an All-American on Friday by WomensLax.com as announced by the organization.
With the honor, Takacs becomes the Golden Bears' first All-American in the history of the program.
She was one of just two MPSF players to be given the recognition (Denver defender Kate Henrich).
Takacs adds another honor to her 2013 campaign that was highlighted by a second straight MPSF Player of the Year award and becoming Cal's all-time career leader in goals (148). The 2012 and 2013 MPSF Player of the Year, she also earned a spot on the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association West/Midwest Region First Team for the second straight year. Takacs paced the Golden Bears in goals (52), points (58), shots (107) and draws (72). The 52 goals were one shy of her school single-season record of 53 in 2012.
