27 Bears Named Pac-12 All-Academic

BERKELEY - A total of 27 Golden Bears earned a place on the Pac-12 All-Academic track & field team announced Wednesday, with nine members of the men's squad and 18 members of the women's team recognized.

Junior pole vaulter Nicole Larson, who has a 3.80 GPA as an economics major, was voted to the women's second team, with all others receiving honorable mention.

The men on team are: Evan Bar, Jonathan Berry-Smith, Tom Blocker, Matt Carpowich, Isaac Dan, Daniel Davis, Ryan Holmes, Sullivan Parker and Matt Petersen.

For the Cal women, those on the team are: Christine Bowlus, Heather Cerney, Cheri Chan, Taylor Dutch, Gianna Fernandez, Sydney Gray, Hillary Hayes, Amanda Hunter, Mackenzi Landry, Taylor Lawson, Sunny Margerum, Laura O'Neill, Tiarra Pittman, Kristin Rimbach and Kelsey Santisteban.

To be chosen for the all-academic team, student-athletes must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be a team contributor.

The Pac-12 team honors those who participated during the 2013 outdoor season. For the indoor campaign, 18 Bears secured all-academic notice from the MPSF.
