CALIFORNIA:A senior freestyler...returning All-American.

JUNIOR in 2001-02: Was a member of Cal's 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams that finished in fourth and fifth place, respectively, at the NCAA Championships...won Pac-10 titles as part of the 200 free (1:30.47) and 200 medley (1:39.20) relay teams...turned in a third-place finish at the Pac-10s with a 23.40 time in the 50 free...one of three current Golden Bears on Cal's all-time Top 10 list in the 50 free (7th, 23.10.

SOPHOMORE in 2000-01: Earned All-America honors as a member of the Bears' 200 medley (freestyle leg) and 200 free relays (lead-off leg), which both placed second at the NCAA Championships...also a member of Cal's 400 free relay that grabbed fifth at the NCAA meet...a member of the Bears' 2001 Pac-10 champion 200 free relay (third leg)...had the team's second-best time in the 50 free (23.10)...was the winner of the team's Most Improved Award.

FRESHMAN IN 1999-2000: Scored for the Bears at the Pac-10 Championships, placing 19th in the 50 free (24.15).

HIGH SCHOOL: A 1998 graduate of Mercer Island High School..was the Washington state champ in the 50 and 100 free, as well as a member of state record holding 200 medley and 200 free relay teams as a senior in 1998...a member of a high school team that had won seven straight state titles...was a member of the Bellevue Club national team from 1997-99.

PERSONAL: Majoring in psychology with a minor in art history...parents are Bob and Betty Harper of Mercer Island, WA...born 5/11/81 in Greenbrae, CA.
