Former Stanford All-American Joins Ginger Miles' Staff

A former Fresno State assistant coach and Stanford All-American, Lauren Schmidt joined the California lacrosse program as an assistant coach in July of 2012. A two-time Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Year while with the Cardinal, Schmidt coached with the Bulldogs during the 2012 campaign.

At Fresno State, the former Cardinal midfielder was actively involved in the organization of the attacking and midfield units, in scouting and in recruiting. A product of Bay Shore, N.Y., she graduated from Stanford in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in human biology.

Schmidt started all four of her seasons (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and participating in two NCAA Tournament (2009 and 2010) runs on the Farm. She claimed IWLCA third-team All-America honors in 2010 and 2011 and the MPSF Player of the Year awards in 2009 and 2010, when she also led the Cardinal in points.
