Oregon State Too Much for Cal

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Jennie Leander scored 25 points but it wasn't enough, as the California Golden Bears fell to the Oregon State Beavers, 81-67, in women's basketball action.

Four Oregon State starters scored at least 13 points, led by Vanessa Morris' 24 on 8-of-12 shooting. For the game, the Beavers (11-11, 5-8 Pac-10) hit at a 51 percent clip from the floor.

Kobie Kennon threw in 10 for the Bears (6-16, 2-11 Pac-10), but no one else reached the double-digit plateau.

All told, Cal sent Oregon State to the free throw line 38 times, with Nicole McAllister's 8-of-9 effort leading the way for the Beavers.

Sherrise Smith had a game-high eight assists for the Bears.

Cal returns to the hardwood Thursday when it hosts Washington.
