Women's Swimming Breaks Three School Records at NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The California Golden Bears broke three school records on their first day of NCAA competition in Indianapolis. Sophomore Marylyn Chiang broke the first record in the 200 IM with a time of 1:58.81, placing fourth in the finals. Sophomore Elli Overton also placed sixth in the 200 IM under 2:00.00. The 400 medley relay (Chaing, Overton, freshman Waen Minpraphal, and freshman Nicole Omphroy) also set a new school record with a time of 3:43.50. Their relay placed tenth in the finals. Chaing broke another record in the 100 backstroke leading off the 400 medley relay with a time of 54.58 in the prelims and 54.67 in the finals.

After the first of three days of competition, The California Golden Bears are ranked 12th of 29 teams.
