Finally fully recovered from a career threatening knee injury, Ashe seems poised to once again compete at an All-American level. 2003: In his first season back from knee surgery, Ashe competed at half strength and was limited to three events, (pommel horse, rings, and high bar) all season...qualified for NCAA in the high-bar, finishing tied for 28th.... his best marks in 2003 were (9.350) in pommel horse, (9.550) in rings, and (9.100) high-bar... opened the season with a third place finish in the pommel horse against Stanford...finished with a score of 9.350 in the pommel horse on Feb. 14th in a second meeting against Stanford and Arizona State...was healthy enough to compete in two events against Air Force and UC Santa Barbara placing second in pommel horse and fourth in rings (8.700)...On March 8th Ashe earned a second place finish against No. 7 Illinois in the rings...contributed and 8.800 on rings in a 218.000-211.150 victory over No. 6 Iowa...set a season best mark of 9.550 on the rings at the MPSF Championships, and eventually finished in sixth place in the event...entered the NCAA qualifying meet ranked 19th nationally. 2002: Redshirted due to knee injury. 2001: Repeat NCAA champion on H-bar with 9.512 and placed fourth on horse with 9.100 and eighth in all-around with 53.675 (individual season best), earning All-America honors on both h-bar and horse ... scored individual season-best scores of 9.300 and 8.850 on horse and rings, respectively, during team championship at NCAAs ... took home top honors on rings (8.650), second in all-around (47.650) and third on horse (8.550) in opening meet on Jan. 6 against Stanford... finished first and third in all-around (47.800) and h-bar (8.650), respectively, on Jan. 21 versus UC Santa Barbara... placed first on horse (9.050) and h-bar (9.400) and second in all-around (50.100) at the Cardinal Open ... scored another 9.400 on h-bar on Feb. 3 to bring home second-place finish against UC Santa Barbara and UMass... tied for first on both vault (8.950) and h-bar (9.050) on Feb. 18 versus Stanford... scored individual season-best 9.250 on horse, for a first-place finish, and also finished second in all-around (52.400) and tied for third on vault (9.100), at UCSB Invitational... had possibly his best meet of year on March 16 at Berkeley versus Iowa and Air Force, scoring team season-best 9.600 on h-bar (finishing first in meet) ... scored then individual season high of 52.850 in all-around, for first-place finish, as well as finished third on p-bars with 8.550 ... notched individual season-best 9.050 on floor and tied individual season best 8.600 on p-bars during MPSF team competition, and finished second in all-around competition (52.250) same day ... won horse event (9.200) competition during MPSF individual event championships. 2000: Won NCAA championship on h-bar with score of 9.900 ...
