Caught a 71-yard touchdown pass on the first offensive play of the Jeff Tedford era ... battled injuries throughout his career ... played both receiver and tight end as a Bear.

2006: Played in all 12 regular-season games, primarily on special teams ... did not play in the Holiday Bowl due to injury.

2005: Made the switch from wide receiver to tight end during fall camp and was a valued member of the offensive unit ... caught just seven passes, but several came at critical times ... had two receptions for 27 yards in the season-opening win over Sacramento State ... had 14-yard receptions against Washington and Illinois ... caught two passes for 40 yards, including a season-best 22-yarder, against Washington State ... touchdown receptions came against Washington and Washington State.

2004: Played in six games, all in reserve ... corralled four passes for 39 yards, including a 24-yard reception vs. Stanford in the Big Game ... also had three grabs for 15 yards came against Texas Tech in the Holiday Bowl.

2003: Returned from injury and saw his playing time increase toward the end of that year ... had only one catch for the season (15-yarder vs. UCLA) until he hauled in two passes vs. Washington Nov. 15 ... also had two receptions in the Big Game and one catch vs. Virginia Tech in the Insight Bowl.

2002: Received a medical redshirt waiver as a freshman, as he missed the final 11 games of the season with a shoulder injury ... returned for limited contact drills in the spring of '03 ... prior to the shoulder injury, caught a 71-yard halfback pass against Baylor on the first play of his career and the first play of the Jeff Tedford era.

High School: Selected 2001 pre-season All-America by SuperPrep magazine ... ranked No. 5 among wide receivers in the West and No. 25 in the nation by Student Sports magazine ... also named to PrepStar's All-West Region team and Long Beach Press-Telegram's Best in the West second team ... as a senior, averaged 30.9 yards per catch in chasing down 23 passes for 710 yards and 10 touchdowns ... all-city performer who helped lead McClymonds to an 11-1 record and first Silver Bowl title since 1987.

Personal: Son of Laronn and Brenda Gray ... born July 30, 1984 in Oakland ... earned his degree in African-American studies in December.
