2001: Burst onto the Pac-10 scene leading Cal in rushing as a true freshman and was named to The Sporting News Pac-10 All-Freshman first team ... inserted into starting lineup in five games in which Igber was sidelined or slowed by injuries ... averaged 105.2 yards rushing (526 yards, 123 carries and 3 TDs) over his last five games ... that average would have ranked him third among Pac-10 rushers, if projected over entire season ... his 62.5 yards-per-game figure for the year did rank eighth in conference, as he rattled off team-high 688 yards and four TDs on 160 attempts and club-best 4.3 yards per carry ... his best collegiate game came in Bears' season closer, when he bolted for 231 yards in total offense at Rutgers, rushing for a Cal freshman-record 185 yards on 36 carries and catching five passes for 46 additional yards ... earned the team's Bob Simmons Award as the most valuable freshman player last season.
