Matt Beck spent three seasons on the Cal football staff working with the offense as a graduate assistant (2009) and administrative assistant (2007-08).

The three-time All-Pac-10 selection entered his senior season as one of the nation's top-rated linebackers, but had his collegiate career cut short by a broken foot after two games.

Beck was on injured reserve with the St. Louis Rams in 2000. He joined the coaching ranks in 2003 with the nationally recognized De La Salle High School program, helping the team to a national championship in his first season.
