A player who could play a big role on the Cal offensive line if his health holds up and he continues to build on the progress he showed the first part of spring drills...played both center and offensive tackle during the spring, before he went down midway through with a knee sprain...has been dogged by an allergic reaction to metal that has caused him many problems over the last two years, but now seems to be under control...coaches like his determination and physical style of play...originally came to Cal two years ago, but has not seen any field duty as he's had medical issues to contend with...

1999...was hoping to contend for playing time, but sat out the entire season with medical problems...

1998...came to Cal in 1998 and redshirted.

Junior College/High School/Personal: Spent three years at Cabrillo College, redshirting his first season there while rehabilitating a shoulder injury...earned second team Coast Conference honors as a freshman in '96 while leading team to a 9-2 record...came back to lead Cabrillo to a 10-1 record and a national No. 5 ranking in 1998...was named team's Most Valuable Lineman and was a first team Coast Conference pick...prepped at Santa Cruz HS where he starred in both football and baseball...was a top pitching prospect until a shoulder injury his junior year ended his baseball career...played with the shoulder injury his senior football season and picked up first team SCCAL and second team Santa Cruz County honors...had surgery immediately after his senior year and thus recruiting efforts dwindled away...played offensive line on offense and both defensive end and linebacker on defense...has gained more than 75 pounds since he graduated from high school...lists basketball, weight-lifting and swimming among his hobbies...majoring in American Studies with an emphasis on sports enterprise...plans to pursue a career in physical therapy after graduation...grandfather, Mickey Masini, coached former Cal line coach Monte Clark at Kingsburg HS in the late 1950s...parents are Ron and Marti Truhitte...born July 17, 1977 in San Diego, CA.
