A massive fullback who figures to be in the starting line-up when Cal goes to traditional "I" formation a dominating blocker, which should be a big factor with Cal's emphasis on the running game this fall...also has the ability to play the tight end spot, if needed, as he catches the ball well...went down with a knee sprain the first week of spring drills and sat out the remainder of the session, but should be back in full health by fall...provides maturity to the Cal team as he turned 24 years old this past spring, having served a two-year Mormon mission from 1996-97...

1999...Saw action in a reserve role last season, primarily as a blocking back...did not have any carries or catches, but played in nine of 11 games.
