Peter Woodring - Cal's All-Time Assist Leader
One of the top forwards in Cal history, Peter Woodring still holds the Golden Bear record for most assists in a season with 12, a mark he set as a senior in 1990. He led the team in scoring with 10 goals as a sophomore in 1987 and in both goals and assists as a redshirt junior (4 goals, 5 assists) and senior (7, 12). Woodring ended his Cal career with 22 goals. One of the Bears' most successful players at the professional level, Woodring spent several years competing on the European circuit, including with Germany's Hamburg and Denmark's Aalborg. He caught the eye of the U.S. national team coaches and earned three caps for the United States in 1993. In 1996 he returned to play domestically and was drafted in the second round by Major League Soccer's New England Revolution. Woodring served as an assistant coach at his alma mater in 1998.
