What was your favorite class you have taken so far and why?
My favorite class I took at Cal was Psychology 133 with professor Matthew Walker. It is about the psychology of sleep, which is not something a person really thinks much about. So because of that, I learned so much information about sleep that I never would have thought about otherwise.
What are your plans after you graduate?
The million-dollar question...I am planning to go to a graduate school.
Looking back, what is one thing you are most proud of from your years
Sticking with the busy routine of a college student-athlete while maintaining good grades since so much time is taken up training.
What do you like most about the Cal swimming team?
The diversity of our group. There are so many people with different personalities and backgrounds and yet everyone comes together so easily as if we were all the same.
What advice would you give to an incoming freshman swimmer or a student-athlete in general?
Don't take these four years for granted. The time you spend here will be pleasurable some days and painful on others but it's important to always enjoy the process of it all because it's a learning experience that not many people are given the opportunity to have.
What is your favorite memory from your time at Cal?
Making my Olympic Trials cut along with former Cal swimmer Justin Pollard when it was the last chance for both of us. We traveled to Roseville with coach Durden for one shot at it, and we both succeeded by reaching it.
What are your swimming goals this year?
I plan to make NCAAs and score points in order to contribute to moving our team closer to a national title.
