Combines with Tim Kates to provide the Bears with one of the top goalie duos in the one of the Bears' team captains this experienced player who has improved every year...has recorded 258 saves in the past two seasons...will again be a key to Cal's success and will be one of the team's leaders...won a gold medal and earned MVP honors at the 2001 Maccabiah Games in Tel Aviv, Israel.

AS A JUNIOR (2001): Had 132 saves in 392 minutes of action with a 5.29 goals against average...recorded 27 saves during the MPSF Tournament, including 10 saves in the championship match versus Stanford....had an outstanding match with 13 saves in the Bears' 4-3 victory over Stanford in the Big Splash, earning the MPSF Player of the Week nod...was a MPSF All-Academic selection.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2000): Played in 20 matches and recorded 126 saves...had an impressive 10 saves in Cal's Big Splash win over Stanford...recorded 19 saves in the three matches of the MPSF Tournament, including 11 saves against UCLA in the title match.

AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (1999): Had three saves in two matches.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At La Canada High School was a three-time all-league performer and as a senior earned All-America and All-CIF Southern Section honors...also helped lead his team to the CIF championship in 1998...competed on the varsity wrestling team as well...considered Long Beach State, Pepperdine and Pacific before selecting Cal...majoring in ISF-digital media with an interest in film directing and producing...sister, Chelsea, 20, also attends Cal...parents are Larry and Ann Bernstein...born September 25, 1979 in Los Angeles, CA.
