The cornerstone of Cal's first NCAA title-winning water polo team and a regular on the United States National Team for many years...named the Collegiate Player of the Year in 1973 when he led the Bears to a 25-1 record and the national title...earned All-America honors in 1972 and 1973...one of the stars of the national team during the 1970's...a member of the U.S. Olympic Team in 1980, but did not compete because of the boycott...also played at the 1975 Pan American Games and numerous other international tournaments...retired from competitive water polo following the 1980 Olympic boycott...also a two-time All-American in swimming and was the 1973 Pac-8 champion in the 100-free and 400-free relay.
