Lorenz attended Cal in the fall of 1999 but earned a spot on the U.S. National Team, along with fellow Golden Bear Heather Petri, following a great showing at the 1999 Holiday Cup. She returned to Cal from 2001-02 and amassed 81 goals, which places her 14th on Cal's all-time scoring list (as of 2008). Lorenz earned All-America honors in 2001 (first team) and 2002 (second team) while at Cal. She led the Bears in scoring during her freshman campaign with 44 goals and was second on the squad with 37 as a sophomore.

Lorenz played for Team USA at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece (gold), the 2000 Sydney, Australia Olympics (silver), the 2003 Pan-American games (gold) as well as at the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona, Spain (gold) and in 2001 in Fukuoka, Japan (fourth).

AS A SOPHOMORE (2002):
Was second on the team with 37 goals...recognized as a second-team All-American and named to the All-MPSF second team...was the leading scorer for the Bears in three games, including a personal season best of three goals against U-Mass on Feb. 10 and USC on Feb. 24.

AS A FRESHMAN (2001):
Led the team in scoring with 44 goals and was named first team All-American, first team All-MPSF and first team All-MPSF Tournament...scored six goals during the MPSF Tournament, including a team-high three goals in the third place match versus USC...was the Bears leading scorer in 10 matches.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL:
At Patrick Henry High School in San Diego was named first team All-American in water polo in 1997, '98 and '99, as well as an All-CIF performer...in 1998, was a member of the gold medal winning water polo team at the Junior Pan American Championship...was also two-time first team All-CIF in volleyball and a four-time team Offensive MVP in softball...parents are Duane and Denise Lorenz...born February 18, 1981 in San Diego, CA.
