Petri lettered at Cal from 1997-99 and returned to finish her degree and eligibility in 2001. She finished her career at Cal with 96 goals, good for 12th on the all-time scoring list as of 2008. The Orinda, Calif., native was Cal's 1999 and 2001 team captain and was second team all-MPSF, MPSF Tournament first team and earned first team All-National honors in 1999. Petri helped Team USA win gold at the 2007 World Championships, 2006 Holiday Cup and 2006 FINA World League. Petri tallied five goals during Super Final 2007 and guided the United States' women's water polo team to a gold medal with an 11-9 victory over Russia at the 2005 FINA Junior World Championships in Perth. Petri also represented the U.S. at the World Championships in 2007 in Melbourne, Australia (gold), 2005 in Montreal (silver) as well as in Fukuoka, Japan in 2001 (fourth).Petri lives and trains in Long Beach, Calif. Petri sat out the 2000 college season as a member of the USA Women's National Team. She was also a member of the Cal club team that won the Senior National Championship in the summer of 1998, scoring the match-winning goal against Sunset (San Diego) with 2:48 in sudden death overtime.

AS A SENIOR (2001): Returned to Cal to finish her degree and eligibility after playing with the national team in 2000...was second on the team in scoring with 21 goals...was captain of the team...was an All-MPSF honorable mention.

AS A JUNIOR (1999): Was fourth on the team in scoring with 33 goals...earned second team All-America, first team All-Regional Qualifier, second team MPSF, first team MPSF Tournament and first team All-National Tournament honors.

AS A SOPHOMORE (1998): Scored 19 goals on the season and was an honorable mention All-America selection...also was a Collegiate National Championship Second Team pick and Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Honorable Mention...was the Bears leading scorer in four matches, including scoring a team-high three goals in Cal's opening round win versus Indiana at the National Championship...scored a goal against UCLA in the national title match.

AS A FRESHMAN (1997): Scored 23 goals on the season...led the Bears with three goals versus UC Santa Barbara Feb. 14 at the UC San Diego Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: At Miramonte High School played for Cal coach Peter Asch and was a two-time team captain, leading her team to the Foothill Athletic League title in 1994 and '95, and the North Coast Section Championship in 1995...also competed four years in swimming... was a member of the U.S. Junior Youth Team in 1995 and a member of the U.S. National B Team in 1997...had a 3.4 high school GPA...majoring in integrative biology...parents are Charlie and Karen Petri...born June 13, 1978 in Oakland, CA.
