Player Profile

Won the Robert A. Roos Batting Cup in 1956 with a .385 batting average...During 1957 season he was moved from the outfield to shortstop...his play at shortstop coupled with his .352 batting average made him an All-America and first team All-District selection...this 1957 team won the national championship...in basketball, the 6-1 guard played on teams coached by Pete Newell that went to the NCAA regionals and were Pacific Coast Conference champions in both 1957 and '58...Robinson was captain of the 1958 team and earned All-Coast honors in 1957 and '58...went on to play professional baseball with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1958 and for the Baltimore Orioles in 1961, '62 and '64...assistant basketball coach at Cal 1963-'65.
