Women's tennis opens dual season with win

BERKELEY - The University of California women's tennis team opened the 1998 dual match season with an easy 9-0 victory over UC Davis Friday afternoon.

The Bears swept through singles and doubles play, winning all nine matches, including all sets against an overmatch UC Davis squad.

The Cal women's tennis team will return to action Jan. 27 when they host the Broncos of Santa Clara in a dual match to be played at the Hellman Tennis Center on the Cal campus.
