No. 7 California Serves Up Loss to Washington State

Jan. 30, 1998 SEATTLE, Wash. - Washington State University women's tennis team (0-1, 0-1) was defeated by No. 7 California (2-0, 2-0) 7-2, Friday at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle, Wash.

The Cougars only singles win came in the No. 4 singles spot when Andrea Reisz defeated Francesca La'O 7-6, 3-6, 7-5.

Cougar Patycja Gajdzik teamed up with Tamara Filipovic to defeat the Golden Bears No. 3 doubles team of La'O and Jenny Lee, 8-2.

The Cougars open this seasons dual match schedule facing four Top 25 teams. California is currently ranked 7th in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Cougars next duel match is against No. 5 Stanford, Saturday, in Seattle.
