Kevin Davis returns to Cal this fall as a second-year volunteer assistant coach. In 2005, Davis helped lead the Cal cross country team to one of its best seasons. Davis posted clutch performances at the Pac-10 Championships and the NCAA West Regional. At the regional, he came in third among Cal runners, taking 48th overall with a time of 31:24.

In track and field, he was a junior national champion in the 3000-meter steeplechase (9:01.34) and runner-up at the Pan American Junior Games in 2003. Davis earned his first All-America honor as the anchor leg to the NCAA Indoor runner-up distance medley relay that set the school record at 4:01.39. He placed 10th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, earning his second All-America honor. In addition, he set the school record in the steeplechase (8:35.37) at the USA Outdoor Championships.

Recently, Davis competed for Nike at the 2008 Olympic Trials in the steeplechase. He graduated from Call in 2007 with a degree in psychology.
