CAL CAREER (Career Stats): Played in 13 games with three starts over his first two seasons with the program from 2010-11 before missing the 2012 campaign with an injury ... left the team during 2013 training camp and was granted a release … granted a medical redshirt for the 2010 campaign … third among active Cal players in sacks (4.0), sack yardage (-23 yards) and tackle for loss yardage (-35 yardage), while ranking fourth in tackles for loss (5.5) … has totaled 19 tackles … all of his stats other than three games played and two tackles came during the 2011 campaign.

2013: Left the team during training camp and was granted a release ... missed much of spring practice due to injury but did play in the spring game and contributed a game-high-tying six tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss (-4 yards), with the tackle for loss accounting for one point in a scoring system that rewarded the defense for certain plays … listed as one of two players sharing the No. 2 spot at the ‘WILL' position on the preseason depth chart.

2011 (Game-By-Game Stats): Played in 10 games with three starts … recorded 17 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss (-35 yards), 4.0 sacks (-23 yards) to rank third on the team, and one quarterback hurry … had an 0.40 per-game sack average to rank 11th in the Pac-12 … named an honorable mention Linebacker Performer of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards when he posted career highs and team season highs of 3.5 tackles for loss (-22 yards) and 2.5 sacks (-12 yards), as well as a career-high five tackles and the lone quarterback hurry of his career against Utah … his 3.5 tackles for the loss against the Utes tied for the second most by a Pac-12 player in 2011 … had three tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss (-2 yards) and 0.5 sacks (-2 yards) in the season opener vs. Fresno State … also had three tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss (-2 yards) vs. USC … recorded two tackles at UCLA and single stops vs. Presbyterian, at Washington, at Oregon and vs. Washington State … added 0.5 tackles for loss and sacks vs. Washington State (-5 yards) and Presbyterian (-4 yards).

MONTE VISTA HS: A four-star recruit by Scout and Rivals … a Prepstar All-American as a 2009 senior … ranked as the nation’s No. 6 inside linebacker by Rivals, the No. 7 middle linebacker according to Scout and the No. 17 inside linebacker by Tom Lemming … on the national lists of top players overall by Rivals at No. 230 … listed by Rivals as the No. 32 player overall in California and checked in with SuperPrep at No. 44 overall in California/Hawaii/Nevada … recorded 145 tackles, 6.0 sacks, seven forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries as a senior, and was among players receiving votes for the Long Beach Press-Telegram’s Best in the West team … the No. 4 player overall in the combined San Mateo and East Bay areas as a senior according to the Bay Area News Group in its annual “Cream of the Crop” listing … played in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl following his senior campaign … had 95 tackles as a 2008 junior when he earned All-State underclassman honors and led his squad to the section semifinals before falling to national power De La Salle .
