Mahalic played in one game off the bench as a third-year sophomore in 2014 during his three seasons with the program before he graduated from Cal with a bachelor’s degree in May of 2015 with two seasons of collegiate eligibility remaining that he will not use. He began his collegiate football career in 2012 at the age of 23 after spending five seasons as a minor league pitcher in the Cleveland Indians’ organization. Mahalic become the first Cal student-athlete to graduate from the Haas School of Business in three years.
