Coles spent one full season in 2012 and part of another in 2013 with the Cal football program without playing before leaving the team during training camp of his second campaign. He originally joined the club in the spring of 2012 after making the team following a walk-on tryout from Cal’s general student body. Coles is on track to graduate from Cal in the summer of 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in legal studies.

► Earned a spot on the Tulare/Kings County All-Star team as a 2009 senior when he caught 17 passes for 409 yards and five touchdowns, while adding 12 rushes for 35 yards and one TD to rank second on the squad in scoring with 36 points
► Also contributed 20 tackles, while leading the team with 15 kick returns and 415 kick return yards for a 27.7 average, including season longs of a 55-yard kick return and a 13-yard punt return
► Senior squad posted a 7-6 overall record and was 5-1 in the West Yosemite League to finish second
► Had nine catches for 143 yards and three touchdowns, and three rushes for 46 yards during his 2008 junior campaign
► Posted a strong season defensively as a junior with 33 tackles, four interceptions that he returned 80 yards and one pass breakup
► Also returned seven kicks for 243 yards and a 34.7 average including an 82-yarder as a junior
► Returned two kicks for 35 yards as a 2007 sophomore
► Also competed in track and field and was a three-time state meet qualifier as a senior for a program that won West Yosemite League titles three times in his four prep seasons in 2007, 2009 and 2010
► Set best marks of 10.85 (wind-aided) in the 100 and 22.94 in the 200 meters, 6’ 9” in the high jump, and 47’ 1/2” in the triple jump
► Racked up the honors as a 2009 senior when he was the Tulare County outdoor champ in both the high jump and triple jump, being named to the All-WYL squad, the Fresno Bee Boys Track and Field team and his school’s MVP
► Visalia Times Track and Field Athlete of the Year as a 2009 junior
► A member of his high school’s band and a mock trial team that was the Tulare County champs
