Mitch Elkins is in his fourth season on the California men’s basketball staff and second season as the program’s Video Coordinator.

After serving as Operations Intern his first season and Assistant Director of Operations his second year in Berkeley, Elkins was elevated to Video Coordinator by Head Coach Cuonzo Martin prior to the 2014-15 season.  He manages the program’s scouting and recruiting film, as well as the practice and game film.

In Elkins’ previous role, he worked with the Director of Operations in all aspects of the program, including scheduling, travel, program expenses, and provided assistance with additional day-to-day responsibilities.

Elkins arrived in Berkeley in 2012 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he completed his undergraduate degree in Sports Management. 

He graduated with honors and was a member of the Dean’s List and three national honor societies.

During his time at Illinois, Elkins served as a manager for the Illini women’s basketball program under former Head Coach Jolette Law for three seasons, serving as head manager his senior year.  He also assisted with the football program’s recruiting operations and worked with the university’s development office as an ambassador with the I-Fund, the fund-raising arm of Illinois’ athletic department.

Elkins originally joined the California athletic department in May of 2012 as an Olympic Sports Operations Intern, before moving over to become an Operations Intern for the men’s basketball program.
