Mitch Elkins begins his second season with the California men's basketball program. After serving as the assistant operations manager his first season, Elkins was elevated to assistant operations director in July of 2013. He will aid in all aspects of the program during the 2013-14 season.
Elkins aids Director of Operations Theo Robertson in all aspects of the program, including scheduling, expenses and provide assistance with additional day-to-day responsibilities.
Elkins arrived in Berkeley in 2012 from Illinois, where he completed his undergraduate degree in Sports Management this past August at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He graduated with honors and was a member of the Dean's List and three national honor societies.
During his time at Illinois, Elkins served as a manager for the Illini women's basketball program for three seasons and assisted with the football program's recruiting operations. He also has experience in development, working as an ambassador with the I-Fund, the fund-raising arm of Illinois' athletic department.
Elkins originally joined the California athletic department in May of 2012 as a member of the Olympic Sports Operations unit, before moving over to his current role with the men's basketball program.
