BERKELEY - With less than six months before renovated California Memorial Stadium reopens its gates, Golden Bear football season-ticket holders and donors will have the first opportunity to preview the renovated stadium and new seating through a virtual portal available at CaliforniaMemorialStadium.com.
Fans within three seat-selection groups, including 2010 and 2011 football season-ticket holders and donors at the Cal Club level and above, can now log into their seat-selection accounts for a virtual online tour of stadium sections, seat views and more.
"We understand that this is an important decision, so along with the ability to select your seats online, you will also have the opportunity to call our newly created customer service team to walk you through your options, starting April 2," said Ashwin Puri, newly appointed Associate Athletic Director for Sales, Marketing and Service. "This is our chance to show you the new, Cal fan-first philosophy. We want you to be treated like gold."
The actual step-by-step process to choose seats will begin at the end of March, starting with participants in the Endowment Seating Program (ESP) on March 26 and for Group 1 on April 2. Members of the general public who are not part of one of the season-selection groups below will have access to a virtual stadium preview in early April. Click here to view the timeline.
The seat-selection groups are:
GROUP 1 - All 2011 football season-ticket holders and donors at the $1,200 level and up (July 2010 - Dec. 31, 2011)
GROUP 2 - All 2010 football season-ticket holders and donors at the $100 level and up (July 2010 - Dec. 31, 2011)
GROUP 3 - New season-ticket holders who placed a seat deposit (December 2011 - January 2012)
Patrons within these groups were sent an email with their seat-selection date, time and account log-in information on Monday, March 12, with a postcard to follow in the coming weeks. Fans with questions regarding the seat-selection process, their date or time can email here or call (800) GO BEARS (800-462-3277) Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. PT.
Fans who want to become new season-ticket holders in 2012 and do not own ESP seats or fit into one of the groups above can click here to join our wait list.
ESP participants will have access to purchase additional seats outside the ESP sections by paying the full donation and season-ticket price during the ESP Priority Window, which will begin in late March. More information on this priority window will be sent directly to ESP seat holders by the Athletic Development Office.
All seats in California Memorial Stadium outside of the ESP areas, single tickets/groups, visitors, and student sections will be reseated, and the order will be based upon the priority groups. The Internet-based process will be similar to what fans experienced for games at AT&T Park this past year, with added improvements based on customer feedback. Fans will be able to choose any seat in any section as long as it is available during their seat-selection time.
The sections just outside of ESP will have benchbacks with additional legroom, while all of the old wooden bleachers throughout the stadium will be replaced with aluminum seating.
Student seating will remain exactly as before, both in numbers and location on the east side right behind the Cal team. The GoldZone on the north side of the stadium will be expanded from previous years and will retain special adult, youth and senior citizen pricing.
