PASADENA - Cal head coach Jeff Tedford and preseason honorable mention All-American linebacker Mike Mohamed completed a busy day of interviews at the West Coast Pac-10 Media Day on Thursday. Both spent nearly five hours conducting interviews with media outlets from across the nation on a beautiful, sunny day at the Rose Bowl.

The activities began when Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott addressed a large media crowd from a stage set up near the 50-yard line at 9:30 a.m. The head coach and one player from each of the conference's teams then spent nearly the next three hours in 15-minute intervals taking questions at the front table from the assembled media.

Cal was fifth on the list of teams to go on stage, so Tedford and Mohamed started their day by doing interviews with several media outlets that cover teams around the league for approximately an hour before their 15-minute session began around 10:45 a.m.

The second portion of the morning session took Tedford and Mohamed back to the locker room area for a series of mostly video interviews and sound bites with the likes of CBS College Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports Net, Fox Sports.com, Pac-10.com and Versus.

All of the Pac-10's head coaches and players in attendance than gathered for several photos near the front of the stadium at approximately 12:30 p.m., before it was finally time for lunch and one-on-one interview opportunities for print media back on the field.

The numerous interviews finally wrapped for both Tedford and Mohamed a little after 2:00 p.m. PT, with Tedford joining the remainder of the Pac-10 coaches on a bus to travel across town for one final event Thursday evening at the Fox Network Studios in Hollywood.

"Media day went well," said Mohamed, who attended the event for the first time. "It was really cool being on the field and back in the Rose Bowl. It definitely was a lot of work doing all of the interviews. I walked out of there pretty exhausted."

Cal opens its 2010 season vs. UC Davis at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 4 (1:00 p.m. PT). The upcoming campaign also includes visits from Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Washington during a seven-game home schedule.

As Cal football prepares for its final season in the current Memorial Stadium, it is important to purchase season tickets this year. Cal fans that purchase season tickets and maintain their donation levels will have access to the best possible season-ticket seat locations when Cal football plays at AT&T Park in 2011 and returns to the renovated Memorial Stadium in 2012.
