Recap |  Final Stats

Head Coach Joanne Boyle

"It was a good game for us going into break and coming off of Texas A&M. Just thought we had a lot of energy. All of the statistical categories were great for us. I think we just have to lock down on defense. With a team like that, they weren't getting their shots off. Dribble penetration and just making things difficult and taking things away from there. We need to go through this week and look to get better at that."

On whether or not the team is road ready

"We have only had two road games so far, so we are really just getting into the thick of things. We've talked about being road warriors and what that means. I think for us is getting some good games behind us going into the Vegas tournament. It will make us better and more prepared unlike going into New Mexico when it was so early."

Sophomore center Talia Caldwell

"We were really disappointed after Texas A&M. I liked the focus of practice this week. We had a long week of practice and each day we were just trying to get better at executing offense and little things. We know we have heart and we will come out and play hard. We can defend. We can rebound. We just wanted to tie some loose ends together, like our offense executing. Just having a complete game. So I think we were excited and motivated to play another game.

On what she was happy about the team doing in the game

"It was a zone, so we ran a lot of zone sets. Us being more comfortable in the zone and really knowing that when we get the ball baseline, listen to what Coach is saying about how to break a zone and how to score easier because sometimes, early in the zone games, it takes us three possessions to get a good score. So I think this was a good practice and test on what we need to look at in a zone and how to score in a zone so that our offense can keep flowing no matter."

Sophomore forward DeNesha Stallworth

On working with sophomore guard Eliza Pierre on scoring

"Eliza and I connect well, even off the court. She is a really good friend of mine. She just knows when to find me. She usually knows where I am at. She just makes good passes."

On playing two good halves

"There are some things I do need to improve on, like my rebounding, but I just I know that if I keep playing hard, the game won't be as close. We didn't want this to be a close game, so I took that into consideration. And played hard for two halves.
