RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. - The California Golden Bears finished second in the team competition at the 2004 Pac-10 Rowing Championships held Sunday, May 16th at Lake Natoma in Rancho Cordova. In the marquee race for the men, the varsity eight race, the Bears got out to a good start, stroking to a seven-seat lead. Cal held its lead through the 1500-meter mark but was beginning to feel the pressure from Washington. In the last 200 meters, the Huskies made their move and shot by the Bears to take their second straight Pac-10 title.
