FEDERAL WAY, WASH. - In the first day of the 2009 Pac-10 Men's Diving Championship, held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Wash., Cal sophomore standout Thomas Henninger placed seventh in the one-meter competition.
Henninger had scored a 285.00 in the preliminary round, but finished strong with a 321.50 in the finals for the seventh place finish. Taylor Dehn placed 10th (266.55), followed by Joe Quattrocchi in 11th (264.35) and Bobby Sullivan 14th (227.25).
"The divers had a great first day of competition," said Cal diving coach Tom Davidson. :Hopefully we can build on today's performance and do better the next two days of the competition."
The Cal men divers will next compete on the three-meter board on Thursday, Feb, 26 with the prelims and finals beginning at 11 a.m.
