A week after the conclusion of the Pac-12 Conference Diving Championships, the Golden Bear divers, led by freshman standout Collin Pollard, will travel to the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs to compete in the March 16-18 NCAA Zone E Diving Qualifying Meet.

Led by Pollard's stellar performances on all three boards at the Pac-12 Championships - placing sixth on one-meter, seventh on three-meter, and fifth on the platform - the Cal divers will look to qualify four divers for the NCAA Championships, March 28-30 in Indianapolis.

Under coach Todd Mulzet's tenure, Pollard and sophomore Tommy Selby combined to score a program-high 55 points at the conference championships, contributing valuable points to the overall team competition as the Bear men swimmers and divers snapped Stanford's 31-year conference winning streak. Cal edged Stanford, 825 to 800 points, bringing the Pac-12 Championship crown home to Berkeley for the first time since 1981. Pollard appeared in the A final in all three events, joined by Selby qualifying for the finals in the one-meter competition.

Pollard and Selby will be joined by juniors Grayson Huston and Tyler Pullen in Colorado Springs. The Bears will vie for eight individual qualifying spots from Zone E to the national meet. Cal will be competing against divers from the Pac-12 programs and several West region schools.

The four Bears feature the most divers to qualify for the Zone E meet in program history in only Mulzet's third year directing the squad. Mulzet will look to join head coach Dave Durden and the Bear swimmers in Indianapolis as the team looks to capture a third straight national title. The last Cal diver to compete at the NCAA meet was Sam Helvie in 2007.
