CORVALLIS, Ore. - The No. 17 California men's soccer team won its second consecutive Pac-10 title when it earned a point in Sunday's 0-0 tie against Oregon State at Paul Lorenz Field. In winning the championship, the Golden Bears earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament for a school record seventh consecutive time. With today's tie, Cal is now 11-4-2, 6-2-1 and the Beavers are now 8-10-1, 3-5-1.

"Our players should be commended on their second consecutive Pac-10 Championship," said head coach Kevin Grimes. "The teams in our conference are among the best in the country, and that makes it very rewarding."

Against Oregon State, sophomore keeper Stefan Frei made seven saves in earning his conference-leading ninth shutout of the season. Frei's counterpart, Packy Deenihan, made four saves for the Beavers.

Senior Javier Ayala-Hil and freshman Scot Van Buskirk each tallied a shot on goal, while sophomore Imaan Kerchgani notched two shots on goal.

The Bears travel to Stanford for the final game of the regular season Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. at Maloney Field.
