Head Coach Joanne Boyle
"I want to give a lot of credit to TCU. They had a great game plan. They executed well. They shot the ball well. They did a great job on us. We struggled. We made some good runs to come back, but we never got over the hump. Shooting 7-for-27 from the three isn't going to help you win a lot of games."
"They played us zone almost all night. We had to take outside shot. They didn't guard us. We were surrounded by a whole lot of openings. We just didn't execute well."
"When we went to the zone in the first half and went on our run to pull within close, we had a bad matchup. We're small guards. They were posting us up. We didn't do a good job of getting around. We just sort of stood there. Casey Morris did the best job for us. I was disappointed in my guards for not doing a better job. We didn't adjust well to what they were doing."
"Of all the games I have watched TCU play, this was the best they have played since the Maryland game. They responded well. They talk a lot about matchups, good matchups and bad matchups. This is a team that we just don't match up well against. We had to play really good. We did it at times, but they abused us at other times, too."
Senior Forward Ashley Walker
"I think Coach did a good job last season of teaching me to shoot the ball. Since I'm smaller than a lot of other players in my position, I can't rely on getting touches in the block, so we were just flashing and getting over the high post jumper, shots around the 15-foot range. I wasn't going to get many touches tonight in the low block because they were sitting down there. We need to be able to adjust, to have our guards step up and hit some shots. They've been hot lately, but not tonight."
"I think Casey did the best job for us tonight. It was nice to see her step up and really get it."
