Head Coach Joanne Boyle
"It was good just to play another team. I know Russ was down a couple of kids and some of their better players, so it wasn't a true game in the sense of traditional post players. It was not the style we will play throughout the year, but to get up and down the floor and play a 40 minute game with refs and fans, it was good. We got exposed a little bit on dribble penetration, so there are some things we need to work on. We worked a lot on zone offense, because that was all they ran against us, so that was good to get that stuff in. I thought for the first time having Rama back and giving the freshmen a lot of minutes, and working our rotations a little bit, it was really good for that stuff."
On the return of Rama N'diaye
"She hadn't played in [almost] two years. She's coming up out of the lineup and all of a sudden she runs out there and I was like 'Oh my gosh! I haven't seen her in forever in that atmosphere.' It was good. She was king of nervous. For her to get minutes, get in, and settle down, and go forty minutes, that was good. Her knee felt good, she said. Again, we'll see in two days where she is at, but it was really good for her to get those touches and to get up and down in a game-like atmosphere."
"She settles us in the post. She dominates in the post. She's just our go-to person. She works well with Rama and Talia in there. She just needs to do more for us this year. She knows that. Especially with Gen [Brandon} being out, we need her to step up and I think she has done that and will continue to do that."
