BERKELEY - Caitlin Leverenz had a good week. On Jan. 20, USA Swimming announced that Leverenz was on the U.S. roster for the 2011 World Championships. In her first collegiate competitions in her home state of Arizona, Leverenz won a total of event races in two meets, making her this week's California Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week.
Leverenz took home titles in four races on Jan. 21 at Arizona State and four events on Jan. 22 at Arizona to power the fourth-ranked Golden Bears (4-1 record, 2-0 in the Pac-10) to victories in both dual meets.
The Tucson product swam on the Bears' winning 400-yard medley relay and claimed the 200 butterly, 200 breaststroke and 400 individual medley in Tempe. One day later, Leverenz swam on Cal's victorious 200 medley relay and won the 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 IM in her hometown.
