Getting to Know Jackie Williams

Sophomore Jacqueline "Jackie" Williams earned both the team's Most Improved and Founder's Award last season. She played in one tournament this fall, the Ptarmigan Ram Classic, where she shot an even par 72 in the final round.

Jackie attended Loretto High in Sacramento and was a member of the final graduating class from that school. She played in the Walmart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach in both 2007 and 2008.

Here are some things you may not know about Jackie Williams:

What are your future goals? Play on the LPGA tour, coach college golf, and or be a practicing child psychologist.

Of what sport teams are you a fan? I am a giants fan.

When you were a little kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a singer.

Of what are you most proud? I'm most proud of being her at Cal.

Who is your favorite celebrity? I really like the comedian, Kathy Griffin.

If you could be on any TV show, which would it be? I am a huge fan of The Big Break on the Golf Channel, but I could also see myself on Modern Family.

What is your favorite article of clothing? My white Vans because they are so comfortable.

What sort of business would you like to start? An athletic, overnight camp for children with mental illnesses.

Where is your favorite place to relax? In my big brown fuzzy rocking chair in my living room.

Who has been your favorite professor/ class at Cal? I really enjoyed Sociology 3AC with Professor Kelsey.

If you had a time machine, what year/era would you like to travel to? I think the 60s because I am a huge fan of the music.

What is one thing about your hometown that you miss? My hometown is Sacramento and the only thing I really miss about it is my family.

What was the best moment from a road trip last season? The first round of Pac 10s at Eugene CC because it was just so exciting.

Favorite sport other than golf? I really like baseball and volleyball.

What is your favorite sports movie? The greatest game ever played.

What is your favorite non-sports movie? Mean Girls.

What is your favorite recent movie? The Town.

What challenge do you find in golf that you do not find in any other sport? The amount of time you must focus and stay in the present. In golf, you have a lot of time to think about what you're going to do and what you've done, but that may not be the best thing to do.

What is a secret talent that few people know you have? I make really delicious chicken, but few people would ever think that.
