BERKELEY, Calif. - The University of California's Athletic Department and Web site partner CSTV have launched an All-America promotional Web site for juniors Ashley Walker, Devanei Hampton and Alexis Gray-Lawson.
SoBerkeley.com features flash animation for the introduction before taking the viewer to the home page. Once on the site, fans can navigate nine tabs to find information such as player profiles, highlights, one-on-one interviews, photo galleries and statistics on each player.
There is also a "what they're saying" link, which has a collection of quotes from other coaches and basketball experts about the Bears' All-America candidates.
Additional links provide navigation to newspaper clippings and the opportunity to ask questions of Walker, Hampton and Gray-Lawson.
All three athletes have received preseason All-America recognition, and Hampton is a candidate for the State Farm/Wade Trophy and Wooden Award, which are given to the national player of the year. Walker, a forward/center, currently leads the Pac-10 in scoring (21.0) and rebounding (11.9 rpg) and ranks second in blocked shots (2.3 bpg). Gray-Lawson, a guard, is second on the team in scoring at 11.6 ppg and ranks third in the Pac-10 in three-point field goal percentage (51.9%). Hampton, a forward/center, hopes to return to the team soon after having knee surgery Nov. 9.
