BERKELEY - University of California quarterback Nate Longshore will be a featured guest on an ESPN.com Live Chat on Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. (Pacific). The junior has led the Golden Bears to a perfect 5-0 record and the No. 3 ranking in the nation. It is the highest Associated Press ranking for Cal since 1952. Cal, which has a bye this week, returns to action next Saturday, Oct. 13 against Oregon State at 4 p.m.
The link to join the chat or to send questions in advance is: http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=17497.
A Southern California product from Canyon Country High School, Longshore has thrown for seven touchdowns and 1,137 yards in five games this season. He has completed 63.8 percent of his passes with just two interceptions. Last season, the junior was an All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention selection after delivering 24 touchdown passes and throwing for over 3,000 yards - he is just the second signal-caller in Cal history to surpass 3,000 passing yards.
Cal is coming off a thrilling 31-24 victory over then-No. 11 Oregon on the road this past Saturday. The Bears opened the season with a key victory over Tennessee and have also defeated Colorado State, Louisiana Tech and Arizona this year.
