BERKELEY - Taylor Kelly has played in at least 50 games in each of her four years in a Golden Bear uniform. As a freshman, Kelly had 15 RBI and scored two runs in the Tuscaloosa Regional. As a sophomore in 2008, Kelly made 47 starts and went a perfect 3-for-3 with a run against Fresno State at the Regional Championships. Last year, the Santee, Calif., native was fourth on the team with six homers and has jacked out three this season. Kelly will graduate this fall with a degree in gender and women's studies.
CalBears.com: What is your best Cal story or favorite Cal experience?
Taylor Kelly: My best Cal experience was probably living in the dorms and meeting all of the other student-athletes and students my first year of college.
CalBears.com: What will you miss most?
TK: I will miss being a part of such a great organization and being a part of a great team.
CalBears.com: What are your career plans and what are you plans after graduation?
TK: I play to apply for grad school, hopefully study psychology and work to become a child psychologist.
CalBears.com: Has Cal lived up to or has it been different and/or better than the expectations you had of it as a freshman?
TK: Cal has been such a great experience for me. I have learned so much here about myself as a person and the type of life I want to live.
CalBears.com: What has been the most embarrassing thing in your years at Cal?
TK: I have had a lot of embarrassing moments throughout my years here. From hitting myself in the shin twice in one at bat and the opposing team, my coach and my teammates laughing at me, to diving back to first and accidentally peeing my pants.
CalBears.com: What is your favorite place to eat or go in Berkeley?
TK: Gypsy's. I always get the ravioli in pink sauce
CalBears.com: What advice would you give to freshmen?
TK: For every bad experience you have here there will be 20 of the best experiences of your life.
CalBears.com: What made you choose Cal?
TK: I love the area and how diverse everyone in the school and community is here.
CalBears.com: Do you have a favorite game or play or road trip?
TK: My favorite game was last year against Stanford. I hit a walk-off homer to win the series.
CalBears.com: What are your other favorite Cal sports? Do you attend a lot of that sports' games?
TK: I like to watch football, basketball and volleyball the most. I attended some, but wish I had gone to more.
