No. 6 California Finishes Second at MPSF Championships

Norman, OK - The No. 6 California men's gymnastics team finished second at MPSF team championships. The Golden Bears, with a score of 219.725, finished behind No. 2 Oklahoma (225.650). No. 8 Stanford (917.925) finished third, No. 9 Nebraska (215.275) was fourth and Air Force 197.235) came in fifth.

Freshman Tyler Block finished first on the parallel bars with a score of 9.375. Senior Graham Ackerman, a two-time NCAA Champion in 2004 took top honors on the high bar, with a score of 9.75 Senior Jay Yee's 9.750 on the still rings was good for second.

Cal, whose floor exercise average is No. 1 in the nation, finished second in the event at the championships, with a score of 36.95.

Competition continues tomorrow, where the individual championships will begin at 1 p.m.
